Shearing at the Ranch

What is shearing? Well, it is shaving the wool off the sheep.
The kids and I went out last Thursday and did our best to help out Grandfather and the guys.
I even worked. He had me sweeping the trimming off the floor and picking up bellies (nasty wool from the sheep's belly). Sounds fun. I didn't mind because I have been wanting to learn about the ranching business more since one day David and I will be doing this together.

Here the men are trying to get them in the pen.

Waiting for her trim.

Madalyn loves doing this stuff.

Grandfather throwing a fleece on the table for grading.
This is how they hold the sheep down to shear them. Don't show PETA.
