We have lived in our gorgeous home built in 1939 out at the ranch since October 2007. We decided soon after moving in that we would like to make this our 'forever' home and raise the kids at the ranch.
Our home was built my David's great-grandfather, Robert A. Halbert, and was used as their homestead until moving to Missouri during a horrible drought in Texas.
It is an amazing home that was built from the timber and woodwork from a home that sat in this very spot when Robert decided to built a new home. The craftsmanship is amazing and we are truly blessed.
The kitchen was remodeled in the 50's, after the Halberts moved back to Texas from Missouri, and then the floor was replaced in the late 70's when David's parents lived here before moving to their current home.
Needless to say, it needed work. Well, we finally did it and we LOVE it!!!!
We moved out the weekend of Memorial Day and moved back into the house the last week following the 4th of July. It was a stressful month but well worth it.

Drumroll PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We remodeled the kitchen area which included the mud room and half bath, did some work in the dining room, extended a patio, added a sliding glass door, painted the exterior trim, added gutters, fixed up the detached garage, and re-wired the whole house.
Man, it was a lot of work but WORTH every penny.
