It's HOT!!!!

We have already had an eventful and busy summer. It has sure been a hot one....as I am sure the rest of you have noticed.

Here are the kids at Gruene Hall on Father's Day.

He is creative. We were cooking dinner one evening and I went outside to find that he had filled up his wheelbarrow and was cooling off in it. It was hilarious.

Goodbye White Lightning

We said our farewell to Madalyn's first horse today, June 21, 2009.

Madalyn received him from Santa Christmas 2007...via Randee Fawcett. He was pretty old, about 25 years old, when he came to live with us but was still in good shape.

She loved riding him and he was good to our kids. Always ran to the fence to visit them and lick Weston's head...which he hated.

We came home from a weekend trip to New Braunfels and he was acting funny. Before we knew it he couldn't walk and he was dehydrated. When we realized how bad he was suffering we called Doc Keller to come check him out. He said it didn't look good so we decided to put him to sleep.

It broke my heart to see Madalyn cry so hard over White Lightning. She loved him so much. I am still crying because I am also sad for our poor boy.

He was a good horse and we are thankful we were able to spend the past year and a half getting to know and love him.

Gran's Camera

Today I had to borrow Gran's camera because I left mine at home (we live about 15 minutes from town). She has over 300 pictures on it and these are a few that brought back great memories and I wanted to share them.
